| Dar Maur Manor opened in 1989 specializing in American Saddlebreds and Morgans. Over the past 23 years, we have expanded our specialty to also include Hackney ponies. We are located at 2858 Old State Route 12 in Sauquoit, New York, approximately 10 minutes from the New York State Thruway and just 5 miles south of New Hartford. At Dar Maur Manor, we offer training, saddle seat riding lessons, driving lessons, showing, boarding, sales, and equine transport. Contact us or stop in for pricing or more information. We are open 7 days a week with our primary residence on the property, and are available and happy to meet with you at any time. Our trainer, Chris Carrick, has over 24 years training and showing experience. Specializing in American Saddlebreds, Hackney ponies, and Morgans, Chris started his career as an assistant trainer with Crabtree Farms, Inc. There he understudied the legendary Redd Crabtree for several years developing his skills and knowledge in starting young horses and developing young show ring stars. Horses trained by Chris have earned impressive show records throughout the Northeast, as well as in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Kentucky. In addition to training, Chris offers saddle seat riding lessons and cart driving instruction. Our riding lesson instructor, Laura DeStefanis, has more than 23 years of rated and open show experience. She has instructed both aspiring and experienced riders of all ages in saddle seat equitation for the last 12 years. Her students have competed in leadline, walk-trot, academy, saddle seat equitation, and performance classes with great show ring success. Our owners, Tom and Maureen Quackenbush have over 25 years experience working with horses and offer only the finest care for you and your equine. |
